The mission of the Bronxville Farmers Market is to bring food that is locally grown, raised or produced to our community and to raise awareness of the importance of eating local for the future of our planet.
At a time when most of our lives are spent onscreen, the market sees itself as a local gathering place, a “town square” as it were, where people can put down their devices for a while and talk to one another.
We hope to be a magnet to draw residents – and visitors from surrounding areas – to the heart of our Village every Saturday morning.
The market operates as a non-profit and is sponsored by the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Bronxville. In our mission to bring healthy, nutritious food to our community, we are partnered with New York Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital.
Pascale Le Draoulec, our market director, grew up in California to French expat parents who foraged for everything from snails and watercress, and would drive a hundred miles for a good Crottin de Chevre or baguette, before farmer’s markets became a thing there. The markets of Provence and Santa Monica are her inspiration. Pascale also runs the Hastings and Irvington farmers markets. She is also a former restaurant critic and author. You can read her blog every week here.
Natalie Rivera is our on-site Market Manager. Natalie M. Rivera has been working as a private Natural Food Chef for the past 5 years. Three years ago she started managing her first farmers market and fell in love! She is a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health & Culinary Arts and is currently working towards her degree in nutritional science and independent study on sustainable agriculture in Cuba.
See you at the market!
